The search rate refers the number of specimen inquiries as a percentage of the daily specimen volume.
This value can be entered by the user or automatically calculated from the specimen volume and Daily Searches values.
Don't worry if you are unsure of this value. From the millions of specimens entered in our system, we have calculated search rates for different types of labs:

Inpatient Hospital Labs: 9%-10%

Hospital Labs with Significant Outreach: 4%-5%

Outpatient and Reference Labs: 3%-4%
